 Katie Noelle Holmes is the beautiful young actress best known for her part as Josephine (Joey) Potter on Dawson's Creek. Joey is the girl-next-door, best friend and on-off love interest of Dawson (James Van Der Beek).
Katie is the youngest of five children, 4 girls 1 boy, and she started acting in high school at Notre Dame Academy. Katie says that friendship is very important to her, and in fact it almost cost her the part in Dawson's Creek when the callback audition clashed with the opening night of her high school production of Damn Yankees. She decided that she couldn't let her friends down and had to decline the audition but fortunately she made such an impact that they agreed to reschedule the audition.

Katie's first major role was in the Ice Storm with Christina Ricci and Eligh Wood. She was originally offered the part as Buffy in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, now played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. She has also stared in Go!, Killing ms.Tingle and Disturbing Behaviour.
